Guidelines for the Use of Overseas Sabbatical Leave by University Faculty Members
(Based on Note 2, Article 34 of the Faculty Employment Regulations)
With the blessing of Almighty God, and in order to provide faculty members with the opportunity to benefit from scientific and research achievements, to become familiar with modern knowledge in the field of medical sciences, and to promote the exchange and transfer of experiences and information, the Guidelines for the Use of Sabbatical Leave by University Faculty Members have been developed.
Eligible faculty members who have been selected to conduct research or study on a specific topic that cannot be carried out domestically, or who need to collaborate with experts and professors working abroad, may be sent to a foreign country. This is contingent upon earning the required minimum points and obtaining admission from a reputable university or scientific–research institution approved by the Ministry of Health.
Guidelines for Planned Domestic and International Trips of University Faculty Members and Staff
(Based on the resolution of the 42nd meeting of the University Board of Trustees, dated June 23, 2014)
In line with addressing the academic needs of faculty members and staff, familiarizing them with the latest scientific findings and essential new techniques, establishing modern technologies, and launching new academic programs to implement internationalization standards in education, research, technology, communication, networking, and infrastructure development — while ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement — Tehran University of Medical Sciences has established facilities to support short-term planned domestic and international trips for its faculty members and staff.
Guidelines for Attending and Presenting Papers (Oral or Poster) — In-Person or Virtual — at International Scientific Conferences For University Faculty Members, Non-Faculty Staff, and Students
One of the key indicators of scientific progress is the ability to showcase a country’s academic achievements and capabilities — a goal that is realized through presenting research papers at international conferences. Participation in such events also provides opportunities to engage with global researchers and establish international collaborations.
Even in circumstances where attending conferences abroad in person is not possible, promoting international scientific exchange should continue virtually, in order to enhance the research and educational capacity of the university community.
Accordingly, this guideline has been developed by Tehran University of Medical Sciences to encourage its faculty members, staff, and students to present their latest scientific achievements at international conferences — whether in-person or virtual — and to benefit from global scientific advancements.
