Educational activities
The curriculum in this section for undergraduate students is theoretical units in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, ninth and tenth semesters, and practical units in the sixth and ninth semesters.
TUMS department of oral and maxillofacial pathology offers two courses in international level for post-graduate applicants including oral and maxillofacial pathology specialty (3-year course) and MSc in oral and maxillofacial pathology (2-year course)
Research activities
The research activities of the group are aimed at improving the research skills of faculty members, postgraduate and undergraduate students in the form of the following functions:
- Extraction of cell collections
- Development and implementation of research projects in three distinct research lines including squamous cell carcinoma, salivary gland and odontogenic lesions and problem based studies.
- Collaboration with other reputable internal educational-research centers in research projects including the Iranian Biological Resource Center, Pasteur Institute, Cancer Institute, Razi and Amir A'lam Hospitals and other dental schools of the country.
- Collaboration with other educational groups in college to provide and interpret examples of clinical trials and animal studies.
- Cooperation with reputable educational and research centers abroad
- Cooperation with the Institute for Advanced Biosciences in France
- Collaborate with Kings College London, UK
- Hold Journal Club meetings for students
- Preparation of scientific articles and its publication in reputable national and international journals
- Design and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate thesis
Treatment activities
Health care is provided by presenting of pathological report of oral lesions by the direct supervision of faculty members.
