History of Pediatric Dentistry Department in Tehran University of Medical Sciences

On the establishment of the Dental School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the field of Pediatric Dentistry was operating as a part of “Pediatric Orthodontics Group” and in the following years became an independent part. In 1975, the first  course of specialty in Pediatric Dentistry in Iran was set up at the Faculty of Dentistry, Tehran University of Medical Sciences and to this day, an average of 2 or 3 postgraduate students are accepted and trained annually.
