Educational activities
The curriculum in this section has been designed for two programs: degree of dental science and specialty program. For undergraduate students, theoretical units are presented in the fifth, sixth and seventh semesters, and practical units in the fifth, seventh and tenth semesters.
For the undergraduate program, students should attend a multidisciplinary integrated clinical course in the last two semesters and are responsible for all dental treatments required for each patient. This course is held in a separate multidisciplinary clinic with attending of professors from Restorative dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontics and Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Community Oral Health Departments.
The curriculum for the specialized program is scheduled in six semesters and within three years. In addition, foreign students who passed the D.D.S are accepted in the program designed in two degrees: MSC program for two years training and specialized degree for three years period of education.
Research activities
Along with educational activities, the group also has research activities:
- Undergraduate students must accomplish the D.D.S program following passing a thesis in the field of restorative dentistry and dental restorative materials in clinical or laboratory experiments
- The curriculum of postgraduate students includes a dissertation in the field of restorative dentistry and restorative dental materials
- Supervision of the research projects of undergraduate and postgraduate students
Treatment activities
Providing health care to patients by students under direct supervision of faculty members in the following fields:
- Preventive dentistry
- Operative dentistry
- Providing health care for patients with special care needs under direct supervision of faculty members
- Extensive restorative treatments such as restoration of teeth with deep and extensive caries, conservative management of worn teeth, implant based restorations, bridges, all ceramic restorations, cosmetic restorations and etc by postgraduate students.
