History of Dental Biomaterials Department in Tehran University of Medical Sciences

The department of Dental Biomaterials at the Faculty of Dentistry of Tehran University of Medical Sciences has started its activities since 2000 as the first department in this field throughout country which was approved in 2002. In the research sections of this department, members try in order to carry out applicable-scientific projects related to dental biomaterials, the quality control of materials to improve their quality and cooperation with relevant manufacturers, and to establish coordination between dental schools and dental biomaterials manufacturers and distribution centers. In the meantime, the first of Ph.D. candidates began their studies in this field in October 2007.
