Dental Implant

Dental Implantology is a lately added branch of dentistry with great progression in recent years. Alveolar ridge resorption after tooth extraction is a consequence of a fundamental principle of bone physiology due to the absence of physiologic functions and forces. In the absence of physiological forces Osteoblastic cells activity reduces and Osteoclastic cells show a dual activity. Therefore bone atrophy in three dimensions is a consequence of tooth extraction. Using dental implants stops this procedure; hence prevention of bone resorption is the main function of dental implants. They can also function as tooth root.
Implant’s size is selected according to the width and height of the residual bone
